Washington - Until now, Research in Motion (RIM) has never launched a BlackBerry with a sliding keyboard model. BlackBerry is now relying on regular QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen display in Storm type.
Apparently it was not because of anti RIM sliding model, but was waiting for the right time. It is said that a Canadian vendor is actively preparing a sliding BlackBerry to be launched in 2010.
Rumor was blowing hard after analysts from technology consulting firm Kaufman Bros., Shaw Wu, claimed that based on information from related sources, RIM is making a BlackBerry with a sliding keyboard and touch screen. This sliding BlackBerry described as a cross between a BlackBerry Storm type 2 with normal QWERTY.
Quoted from Pocket-link, Tuesday (17/11/2009), Wu claimed the current handset is still in prototype form. RIM may be ready to ship next year.
If properly manufactured, could be many parties happy with the presence of the alternative products of this sliding BlackBerry. But those who have died overdo love with characteristic regular QWERTY BlackBerry, maybe there are not willing to enter a sliding phone BlackBerry family.
